Title: Establishes New Standards of Evaluation for Teachers
Vote to override a veto to pass a bill that establishes new standards of evaluation for teachers, which include but are not limited to how a teacher's attendance may or may not affect their annual evaluation score.
Prohibits consideration of a teacher’s use of up to ten days of sick leave per year as part of a teacher’s annual performance evaluation score (Sec. 1).
Prohibits consideration of personal leave days as part of a teacher's annual performance evaluation score (Sec. 1).
Requires teachers who use sick leave for more than three consecutive days, with or without pay, to submit documentation from a medical provider confirming the reason for the teacher’s absence (Sec. 1).
NOTE: A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY OF THOSE PRESENT AND VOTING IS REQUIRED TO OVERRIDE A GOVERNOR'S VETO.
