A vote to pass a bill that requires photo identification in order to cast a ballot.

Highlights:

  • Requires each voter to verify his or her registration in general, special, and primary elections by presenting to the election official a document or identification card that (Sec. 2):
    • Shows the name of the person to whom the card was issued;
    • Shows a photograph of the person to whom the card was issued;
    • Is issued by the United States, the State of Arkansas, or an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the State of Arkansas; and
    • Is not expired.
  • Authorizes the following documents and identification cards for voting (Sec. 2):
    • Drivers license;

    • Concealed carry handgun license;
    • United States Passport;
    • Employee badge or identification document;
    • United States military identification document;
