Vote to pass a bill that specifies the qualifications for impeachment of government officials.
Specifies that certain government officials including justices of the Supreme Court and governors may be removed from office by impeachment for committing treason and bribery (Secs. 1 & 2).
Specifies that impeachment may also occur when an official has committed the following (Secs. 1 & 2):
Fails to adequately perform official duties;
Commits a criminal offense or breach of public trust;
Exerts arbitrary power by subverting fundamental laws;
Attempts to usurp the power of the judicial, executive, or legislative branch;
Displays discourteous conduct towards individuals with whom the officer deals in an official capacity; or
Displays reckless conduct or personal misbehavior.
