Vote to pass a bill that specifies the qualifications for impeachment of government officials.

Highlights:

• Specifies that certain government officials including justices of the Supreme Court and governors may be removed from office by impeachment for committing treason and bribery (Secs. 1 & 2).

• Specifies that impeachment may also occur when an official has committed the following (Secs. 1 & 2): 

• Fails to adequately perform official duties;

• Commits a criminal offense or breach of public trust;

• Exerts arbitrary power by subverting fundamental laws;

• Attempts to usurp the power of the judicial, executive, or legislative branch;

• Displays discourteous conduct towards individuals with whom the officer deals in an official capacity; or

• Displays reckless conduct or personal misbehavior.
