Vote to pass a bill that requires operators of short-term rentals to display certain license information in any advertisement, effective 60 days after passage.

Highlights:

• Requires an operator of a “short-term rental” to include the meals and rooms license number of the operator in any advertisement (Sec. 2). 

• Defines “short-term rental” as the rental of 1 or more rooms in a residential unit for less than 185 consecutive days (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Department of Revenue Administration to issue a warning to first-time offenders that the operator’s license may be revoked, suspended, or denied for a subsequent violation (Sec. 2). 

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill do not alter the nature of the use of a property for the purpose of determining compliance with a local zoning ordinance (Sec. 2).
