Title: Prohibits Sanctuary Cities from Receiving Certain State Funds

  • Prohibits the State Bond Commission from authorizing bonds, notes or other funds for a local government that has adopted “sanctuary policies” (Sec. 2).

    • Prohibits law enforcement officers from inquiring about the citizenship or immigration status of an individual in custody;
    • Limits or prohibits communication and compliance with federal agencies in the verification of an individual’s immigration status;
    • Limits or prohibits communication and compliance with federal agencies in the detainment and transportation of an individual;
    • Grants undocumented individuals lawful presence against federal law; or
    • Requires law enforcement officers to obtain warrants and demonstrate probable cause before detaining and transporting undocumented individuals.
