Vote to pass a bill that amends child safety seat requirements, effective July 1, 2016.
Highlights:
Requires an individual transporting a child less than 2 years of age in a motor vehicle to use a child passenger restraint system in a rear facing position in the rear seat of the vehicle (Sec. 1).
Requires an individual transporting a child 2 to 4 years of age or less than 5 years of age whose weight exceeds the limits for a rear facing restraint system to use a child passenger restraint system in a forward facing position in the rear seat of the vehicle (Sec. 1).
Requires an individual transporting a child 5 to 12 years of age whose weight exceeds the limit for a forward facing restraint system to use a booster seat system in the rear seat until the child reaches a height of 4 feet and 9 inches (Sec. 1).
