Vote to pass a bill that amends regulations for wells with the capacity to withdraw more than 100,000 gallons of water per day.

Highlights:

• Specifies that if a high capacity well has been approved by the Department of Natural Resources, additional approval is not required for the following actions (Sec. 3):
• Repair and maintenance of the existing well;
• Construction of a new well to replace the existing well;
• Reconstruction of the existing well; or
• Transfer of ownership of the existing well.

• Requires the Department to evaluate and model the hydrology of Pleasant Lake in Waushara Country and any other navigable stream or navigable lake located in a designated area to determine the effects of groundwater withdrawals (Sec. 4).
