Vote to adopt a conference report that requires local elections to be moved from the spring to the fall.

Highlights:

 

  • Amends the date of city and district elections to be the Tuesday following the first Monday of November of odd years (Sec. 1).

  • Prohibits an individual who has been nominated for a national, state, county, or township office from being withdrawn from the nomination after the primary election, except in the following cases (Sec. 1):

    • The individual no longer resides in the state;

    • The individual or an immediate family member suffers a severe medical hardship; or

    • The individual dies.
