Vote to pass a bill that authorizes decriminalization of possession of small amounts of marijuana, effective July 1, 2015.

Highlights:

• Classifies possession of 1 ounce or less of marijuana as a civil violation and assigns a fine of $50 (Sec. 1).

• Classifies a second or subsequent violation of the above statute as a petty misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $100 (Sec. 1).

• Classifies possession of more than 1 ounce but not more than 4 ounces of marijuana as a civil violation and assigns a fine of $100 (Sec. 1).

• Classifies a second or subsequent violation of the above statute as a petty misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $200 (Sec. 1).

• Classifies possession of more than 4 but not more than 8 ounces of marijuana as a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $300 (Sec. 1).

• Classifies possession of more than 8 ounces of marijuana as a fourth degree felony punishable by the sentence described in state criminal code (Sec. 1).
