Vote to pass a bill that requires recently-acquired nonprofit hospitals and private universities to be subject to property taxes.

Highlights:

• Requires certain properties acquired on or after July 1, 2015 to be subject to property taxes, including the following properties (Sec. 1):
• Property acquired by a private nonprofit institution of higher learning;
• Property acquired by a nonprofit general hospital;
• Property acquired by a chronic disease hospital; and
• Property acquired by an urgent care facility that operates at least 12 hours a day.
