    • The officer is not carrying a firearm silencer; 
    • The officer is not under the influence of an intoxicant; and
    • The weapon is not a machine gun or a destructive device. 
  • Authorizes a former officer to possess a firearm on school grounds if certain conditions are met, including but not limited to, the following conditions (Sec. 3):
    • The former officer met the training standards and qualifications for active law enforcement officers to carry firearms;
    • The former officer is not carrying a firearm silencer;
    • The former officer is not under the influence of an intoxicant;
    • The former officer is not prohibited under federal law from possessing a firearm; and
    • The weapon is not a machine gun or a destructive device.
  • Authorizes an individual who is employed by a public agency in the state as a law enforcement officer to possess a firearm on school grounds if certain conditions are met, including but not limited to, the following conditions (Sec. 2):
    • The agency has authorized the individual to carry a firearm;
    • The individual is not prohibited under federal law from possessing a firearm;
    • The individual is not carrying a firearm silencer;
    • The individual is not under the influence of an intoxicant; and
    • The weapon is not a machine gun or a destructive device.
