Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the construction of presidential libraries and museums on park land, including formerly submerged land.

Highlights:

• Specifies that presidential libraries, centers, and museums are authorized to be built within public parks and park land (Sec. 1).  

• Specifies that the locations on which city and park districts authorities are authorized to build, operate, and maintain buildings include parks located on formerly submerged land (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes a city or park district to enter into a lease for an initial term of up to 99 years allowing a corporation or society to build, operate, and maintain an aquarium or museum within a public park under the following conditions (Sec. 1):
• The public is allowed access to the grounds in a manner consistent with access to other public parks; and
• The city or park district retains a reversionary interest in any improvements made on the grounds that matures upon the expiration or termination of the lease.
