Title: Increases College Credits Required for Millennium Scholarship

Vote to pass a bill that increases the minimum required college credit hours for the Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship.

Highlights:

  • Requires community college students to take a minimum of 9 credits per semester to qualify for the Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship (Sec. 1).
  • Prohibits a student that qualifies for the Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship from receiving more than the following costs per semester (Secs. 3-6):
    • The cost of 13 semester credit hours per semester, effective July 1, 2015;
    • The cost of 14 semester credit hours per semester, effective July 1, 2016; and
    • The cost of 15 semester credit hours per semester, effective July 1, 2017.
