Vote to pass a bill that amends voter identification requirements, effective July 15, 2015.
Highlights:
Expands the definition of “required voter identification” for an individual voting in person to include the following forms of identification (Sec. 1):
A physical form of identification issued by a government, including a federally recognized Indian nation, or by an educational institution; and
A picture of the voter contained in the voter registration database, along with a written or verbal statement by the voter of his or her name, registration address, and year of birth.
Specifies that “required voter identification” means a form containing the following information in addition to his or her name and registration address (Sec. 1):
The individual’s driver license number or identification number on a recent driver’s license or identification card;
