Title: Requires Drivers to Give Cyclists and Pedestrians 4 Feet of Space on the Road

Highlights:

  • Requires a driver to leave at least 4 feet between the vehicle and the bicycle when the driver is passing a bicyclist (Sec. 1). 
  • Requires a driver to leave at least 4 feet between the vehicle and a “pedestrian” when the driver is passing a pedestrian (Sec. 1). 
  • Defines “pedestrian” as including, but not limited to, the following (Sec. 1):
    • An individual afoot;
    • An individual in a wheelchair or motorized wheelchair;
    • An individual employed by or who contracts with any public utility company in the state; or
