Title: Increases Salaries of Certain State Officials

Vote to pass a bill that increases the salaries of certain state officials.

Highlights:

  • Increases the annual salary of the governor from $119,000 in 2014 to the following amounts (Sec. 1):
    • $120,785 beginning the first Monday in January 2015; 
    • $122,597 beginning the first Monday in January 2016; 
    • $124,436 beginning the first Monday in January 2017; and 
    • $126,302 beginning the first Monday in January 2018 and ending the first Monday in 2019.
  • Amends the annual salary of the lieutenant governor as follows (Sec. 1):
    • $42,275 beginning the first Monday in January 2015;
    • $42,909 beginning the first Monday in January 2016; 
    • 35 percent of the governor’s annual salary beginning the first Monday in January 2017; and
    • 35 percent of the governor’s annual salary beginning the first Monday in January 2018 and ending the first Monday in 2019.
  • Amends the annual salaries of the secretary of state, the state controller, the state treasurer, and the superintendent of public instruction as follows (Sec. 1):
    • $102,667 beginning the first Monday in January 2015; 
    • $104,207 beginning the first Monday in January 2016; 
    • 85 percent of the governor’s annual salary beginning the first Monday in January 2017; and
    • 85 percent of the governor’s annual salary beginning the first Monday in January 2018 and ending the first Monday in 2019.
  • Amends the attorney general's salary to match the salary required by law for a district judge on December 31 of the last year of the attorney general's term of office, effective the first Monday in January of the attorney general’s next term of office (Sec. 1).
