Vote to pass a bill that requires the Attorney General to submit a report to Congress that states the reasoning for any instance in which the Attorney General establishes a policy that refrains from enforcing a federal law.
Highlights:
- Requires the Attorney General to submit a report to Congress of any instance in which the Attorney General, an officer of the Department of Justice, or any other federal officer refrains from enforcing a law and state the reason why, whereas existing law only required the Attorney General or an officer of the Justice Department to do so on the grounds that a provision is unconstitutional (Sec. 2).
