Title: Increases the Minimum Wage

Vote to pass a bill that increases the minimum wage each year 2015 through 2017.

Highlights:

  • Increases the minimum wage of $7.25 to the following amounts (Sec. 2):
    • $8.20 per hour, effective January 1, 2015;
    • $9.15 per hour, effective January 1, 2016; and
    • $10.10 per hour, effective January 1, 2017.
  • Repeals the requirement of an increase in the hourly wage of a tipped employee only in the following cases (Sec. 2):
    • If the employee is paid at least $0.25 below the minimum wage; and
    • If the combined employee tips and wages paid by the employer are at least $0.50 more than the minimum wages.
