Highlights:
- Increases the hourly minimum wage from $7.25 to the following amounts (Sec. 2):
- $8.20 beginning July 1, 2014;
- $9.15 beginning July 1, 2015; and
- $10.10 beginning July 1, 2016.
- Specifies that the provisions of this bill do not apply to employees of retail stores, service industries, hotels, motels, and restaurant operations with an average annual gross volume of sales of less than $500,000, whereas existing law specified $95,000 (Sec. 1).
