Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the use and display of wild animals for annual, seasonal, and cultural events.
Highlights:
- Authorizes the Wildlife Resources Commission to license individuals or issue a “captivity permit” to temporary hold live, wild animals or birds for scientific, educational, exhibition, or other purposes (Secs. 1 & 2).
- Exempts a licensed sportsman who captures and holds a wild animal for use or display in an annual, seasonal, or cultural event from needing the captivity permit so long as the animal is returned at or near the area where it was captured (Sec. 3).
