Title: PA Clean Vehicles Program
Vote to pass a bill that establishes a low-emission vehicle program standard consistent with the one adopted by the California Air Resource Board, better known as LEV II, with some exceptions, and allows manufacturers to comply with these standards or the Environmental Protection Agencies' pollution control standards for new and in-use highway engines.
- Incorporates many of the standards established by LEV II in the new program standard, which includes, but is not limited to, extending emission standards for passenger cars to vehicles that weigh up to 8,500 lbs., increasing fleet average emission standards, and increasing emission control durability standards [sec. 4 (A)]. - Prohibits the adoption of the zero emission requirement, emissions control system warranty statement, or any specific fuel requirements mandated by LEV II [sec. 4 (A)]. - Exempts emergency vehicles and the following light-duty vehicles from the new standard [sec. 5 (A)]:
