Vote to pass a bill that establishes new requirements for voter identification, effective July 1, 2014.

Highlights:
  • Establishes that all forms of identification for voters are required to include the following characteristics (Sec. 1):
    • The identification must be current and valid; and
    • The identification must contain a photograph or the name and address of the voter.
  • Prohibits the following forms of voter identification, which previously had been valid (Sec. 1):
    • Social security card;
    • Copy of a current utility bill;
    • Bank statement;
    • Government check; and
    • Paycheck.
