Vote to pass a bill that establishes new requirements for voter identification, effective July 1, 2014.
- Establishes that all forms of identification for voters are required to include the following characteristics (Sec. 1):
- The identification must be current and valid; and
- The identification must contain a photograph or the name and address of the voter.
- Prohibits the following forms of voter identification, which previously had been valid (Sec. 1):
- Social security card;
- Copy of a current utility bill;
- Bank statement;
- Government check; and
- Paycheck.
