Vote to adopt a conference report that increases certain transportation-related fees, effective July 1, 2009.

Highlights:

• Increases annual license taxes for the operation of motorized vehicles including, but not limited to, the following fee increases (Sec. 16):
• From $14.50 to $19.50 for automobiles weighing less than 2,500 pounds;
• From $22.50 to $30.50 for automobiles weighing more than 2,500 pounds;
• From $10 to $13.50 for motorcycles; and
• From $5 to $6.75 for mopeds.

• Increases the fee for license plate replacement from $12 to $28 (Sec. 13).

• Extends the period in which license plates are valid from 6 years to 10 years (Sec. 13).

• Establishes an additional fee of $12 for the installation of an ignition interlock device (Sec. 37).

• Establishes a $25 fee for the Autism license plate (Sec. 22).
