Highlights:

  • Requires lobbyists to report to the Public Integrity Commission when they enter into direct communication with a member of the General Assembly, the Lieutenant Governor, the Governor, or any official state employee or agency (Sec. 1). 
  • Requires lobbyists to disclose to the Public Integrity Commission the bill, resolution, or regulation they have discussed with a government official and the name of the employer on whose behalf the communication occurred (Sec. 1).
  • Requires lobbyists to issue a report no later than 5 business days after the first direct communication occurred or by June 29 of each year, whichever comes first (Sec. 1).
  • Specifies that direct communication between a lobbyist and a government official that occurs prior to the introduction of the legislation shall be disclosed in a report no later than 5 business days after the introduction of the bill (Sec. 1).
