Vote to pass a bill that prohibits "family food" from being subject to local or federal regulations.

Highlights:

• Prohibits local and federal regulation of “family food” if that food meets the following criteria (Sec. 1):
• It does not negatively impact the rights of adjoining property owners; and
• It complies with all applicable food safety requirements.

• Prohibits a government entity from confiscating “family food” that is stored in the owner’s home (Sec. 1). 

• Defines “family food” as food owned by an individual that is intended for consumption by that individual or by members of his or her immediate family, and that meets the following criteria (Sec.1):
• Is legal for human consumption;
• Is lawfully possessed;
• Poses no health risk; and
• Poses no risk of spreading insect infestation or agricultural disease.
