Vote to pass a joint resolution proposing a constitutional amendment that requires schools to spend at least 65 percent of funding on classroom instruction and provides free voluntary prekindergarten for any four-year-old Florida child. The joint resolution also increases class size requirements by allowing districts to have up to 23 students per teacher for prekindergarten through third grade, 27 students for fourth through eighth grade, and 30 students for ninth through twelfth grade beginning in the 2009-2010 school year and sets required class sizes for school districts.
