Vote to pass a bill that requires voters to present photo identification when requesting absentee ballots in person, effective June 1, 2012.
Highlights:
- Requires voters to provide one of the following forms of photo identification when requesting absentee ballots in person:
- An official state identification card;
- An operator’s or chauffeur’s license; or
- Any generally recognized picture identification card.
- Requires cities, townships, and villages with access to the Ballot Tracker program to utilize the program so that voters can track the progress of their absentee ballots online.
