Title: Required School Expenditures Act

Vote to pass a bill that puts to statewide referendum a requirement that school districts spend at least 65 percent of their operational expenditures on student achievement related services, including, but not limited to, salaries of school personnel, education related supplies and technology, extracurricular activities, food services, and transportation services The bill provides that a school district may hold a referendum to exempt themselves from this requirement or may apply for a waiver from the Board of Education. Authorizes the General Assembly to impose sanctions on school districts that do not meet these requirements or are granted an exemption.
