Vote to pass a bill that amends existing statutes related to education, including the purchase of laptops for high school student and teachers and the implementation of performance pay for teachers.
Highlights:
- Appropriates funds for the purpose of implementing performance pay for teachers, beginning July 1, 2012 (Sec. 5).
- Authorizes parents of high school students to enroll their children in online courses, beginning in the 2012-2013 school year (Sec. 15).
- Requires the Department of Education to provide laptops for every high school teacher beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, and to high school students as follows (Sec. 15):
- One-third of all high school students from 2013-2016; and
- The entire incoming ninth grade class beginning in 2016.

- Installation, repair, replacement, and support of wireless technology;
