Vote to pass a bill that prohibits labor organizations from using dues to fund political activities.

Highlights:

• Prohibits labor organizations and professional employees' organizations from using dues, fees, or assessments required of a member, or from deducting money from a member's paycheck in order to engage in political activities (Secs. 1 & 2). 

• Defines "political activities" as any activities carried out for the purpose of influencing, in whole or part, any election for a state, local government, or board of education office (Secs. 1 & 2).

• Authorizes members of a labor organization or professional employees' organization to donate money for political activities, but specifies that they must do so with a personal payment and note that the payment is for political activities (Secs. 1 & 2).

• Requires labor organizations and professional employees' organizations to maintain a separate fund for donations received for political activities (Secs. 1 & 2).
