Title: Expanding State University Tuition Authority
Vote to pass a bill that requires for academic years 2011-2010 through 2017-2018, reductions or increases in full time tuition fees for resident undergraduates and graduate students to be determined annually by the governing boards of the University of Washington, Washington State University, and Western Washington University.
-Limits the average annual compounded rate of change of undergraduate and graduate full-time tuition fees to 9 percent based on the preceding 15 years, or 14 percent in any year (Sec. 2). -Requires the University of Washington, Washington State University, and Western Washington University to negotiate an institutional performance agreement with the committee on higher education performance that must include data on financial aid, tuition, state sources, and student demographics (Sec. 3). -Establishes the following full-time tuition fee waivers for resident undergraduates of the University of Washington, Washington State University, and Wester Washington University (Sec. 6):
