Title: Public Charter Schools

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that as of July 1, 2006, public charter schools where more than ten percent of students receive instruction at physical school locations may be housed in school district facilities if offered by the school district board of trustees. If a public charter school uses an existing school district facility, the district receives a school building facilities allowance from the state. If the public charter school does not use such a facility, then the charter school receives the facilities allowance. As of January 1, 2007, public charter schools where more than ten percent of their student receive instruction at physical school locations will have their funding calculated “based on the divisors of the school district” instead of as a separate school.
