Vote to pass a bill that extends the statute of limitations for product liability civil action from eight to ten years, while also providing exemptions to the statute.
-Requires a plaintiff to commence a product liability civil action no later than two years after which a plaintiff discovers that a product caused personal injury or property damage (Sec. 1). -Resolves that a product liability civil action can be brought for any death, personal injury or property damage caused by a product as follows: either ten years after the date that the product was first used or three years after any death caused by the product, whichever is sooner (Sec. 1). -Creates an exemption for asbestos-related diseases and certain medical procedures, and resolves that physicians do not design or manufacture products used in medical procedures (Sec. 7, 9).
