"239 years ago, the Continental Congress ratified one of the most important documents in all of human history. The Declaration of Independence laid out, in bold, vivid language, the case for the founding of our country. For over two centuries, Americans have been inspired and motivated by this hallowed text, in particular the language of the Preamble, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.' Thank you to every citizen throughout our history who has sacrificed and struggled to uphold the ideals of our founding and I wish you a very happy Independence Day."
