Guthrie Continues Fight for the Unborn

Today, Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) voted in support of H.R. 36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

"I believe that life is a sacred gift and we must do all we can to protect it," said Congressman Guthrie. "It is simply inhumane to allow late-term abortions, an action that ends the lives of thousands of unborn children each year."

H.R. 36 will ban abortions past 20 weeks of gestation. At this stage in a pregnancy, studies show the unborn are able to feel the physical pain of an abortion. The House previously passed this legislation, with Congressman Guthrie's support, in the last Congress.

"This measure is a commonsense step in advancing life and I urge my Senate colleagues to pass this important legislation," added Congressman Guthrie.
