Issues: Transportation

As a member of the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee, I work with my colleagues to promote a common-sense and balanced approach to a fact-based energy and infrastructure policy that harnesses the power of America's job creators to grow and maintain a strong economy. My focuses include:
Developing and passing WRDA 2013, which will ensure that state and local governments, levee districts, and non-federal interests are able to easily navigate Corps policy and find resolutions to the many problems they face in dealing with the Army Corps of Engineers.
Implementing Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21), which will create a streamlined and performance-based surface transportation program, while transforming the policy and programmatic framework for investments to guide the system's growth and development.
