U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) released the following statement today congratulating the men and women stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona on completing Angel Thunder, the world's largest personnel recovery exercise involving the joint-U.S. forces, 11 partner nations, and nine inter-agencies training to improve military communication and rescue techniques:

"Congratulations to all of the hardworking service members at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on their successful completion of Angel Thunder. This exercise has provided our troops with the vital opportunity to train with skilled personnel from around the world in mass casualty, hostage recovery, high angle mountain rescues, contested environment rescues, and swift water rescues. At a time of increasing threats around the world, exercises like Angel Thunder are critical to preparing American service members for important missions that advance the safety and security of our nation."
