Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Dennis A. Ross (R-FL-15), Senior Deputy Majority Whip, today released the following statement after voting in favor of the FY16 House Budget Resolution.

"Today, I voted for a budget that will cut spending by $5.5 trillion, balance the Federal budget in less than ten years without raising taxes and ensure our nation starts living within its means.

"At a time when our nation faces countless global threats from rogue regions and radical terrorists, this budget will increase defense spending and fund our military at a level higher than the president's budget request.

"This budget will also fully repeal ObamaCare, and strengthen Medicare for future generations.

"Under President Obama, our nation's debt has increased by approximately $7.5 trillion and currently sits at over $18 trillion. The budget we passed in the House today puts forward meaningful solutions that will encourage pro-growth tax reform and places America on a path to pay off our debt by cutting waste and improving accountability."
