Issue Position: Keeping the Inland Empire Moving

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2015
Issues: Transportation

For years, residents of the Inland Empire have suffered the endless gridlock with some of the state's worst traffic problems. Every day, thousands of motorists are forced to waste hundreds of hours sitting in traffic -- time that is much better spent at home with family. For far too long, state officials have failed to effectively deal with these problems and put in place realistic plans to keep the Inland Empire moving.
More important than Eric's service on the Assembly Transportation Committee are the countless hours he spent commuting for work on the 91 freeway, seeing firsthand the neglect that has occurred on our highways. Eric knows that in every way this is a quality of life issue that demands creative and cooperative long-term solutions.
In 2010, then-Assemblyman Jeff Miller authored AB 2098, which brought new options to expand the 91 Freeway on-time and under budget. Eric Linder expanded on that success, reaching across the aisle to co-author AB 401 (Daly, D- Anaheim) -- bringing that kind of solution to freeway projects across the state, including the 15 Freeway.
Transportation requires us to not only focus on the problems of today, but to always look to the future. Eric is working every day to make sure that for today's residents and future generations, the Inland Empire keeps moving forward.
