Issue Position

As California moves forward with implementation of the Affordable Care Act, I am committed to securing affordable, quality and accessible health care for all residents of the Valley. My focus will be to make sure the state-based exchange "Covered California" is an efficient, well organized and consumer friendly system that provides businesses and individuals with the ability to compare and choose health coverage that best fits their needs and budget. I will also work to make sure that preventative medicine and mental health coverage are key components of Covered California.

With nearly 1.4 million Californians enrolled, our state is leading the nation in both number and percentage of enrolments of eligible participants. I am confident that with time and improvements in the coming years, we will reach our goal of near universal health care coverage in the Valley and California.
