"Today the House took necessary steps to protect and ensure seniors' access to Medicare by voting to repeal the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). IPAB, established under the Affordable Care Act, is made up of 15 unelected bureaucrats that acts as a decision-making body whose main focus is to control healthcare costs. These decisions directly affect Americans, mainly seniors, and could impact their access to healthcare. As I have always said, healthcare decisions should be made between patient and doctor, not some Washington desk-jockey. IPAB is just more red tape suffocating our healthcare system, further illustrating the failures of Obamacare."
