Pitts on Developing Sustainable Growth Rate Reform

Statement

Congressman Joe Pitts (PA-16), chairman of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, has been speaking with members regarding a developing deal to permanently replace Medicare's Sustainable Growth Rate with a new policy. He has received positive feedback and looks forward to possible consideration of permanent reform before the expiration of the current patch.

Congressman Pitts released the following statement:

"For years, the SGR has distorted Medicare's finances and the federal budget. We're now very close to permanently replacing it and passing some real Medicare reforms that will have a lasting impact. There's a lot for conservatives to like here."
