Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema today joined a bipartisan majority to support a series of bills to protect taxpayers and hold the IRS accountable.
"Our broken tax code makes filing a tax return complicated and confusing for too many Arizonans," said Congresswoman Sinema. "Hardworking Arizonans deserve support, transparency, and protection when dealing with the IRS and the daunting tax process. The legislation passed today strengthens the Taxpayer Bill of Rights, protects Arizonans from IRS overreach, and holds the IRS accountable."
The House of Representatives marked Tax Day by voting on seven IRS-related bills including H.R. 1058, the Taxpayer Bill of Rights, to ensure fundamental rights for taxpayers working with the IRS.
