Keystone XL Pipeline Crosses Another Hurdle

Statement

Date: Jan. 29, 2015
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Oil and Gas

Congressman Bill Shuster (R-Hollidaysburg), a leader in the House in advancing the Keystone XL Pipeline, released the following statement upon passage of legislation to approve construction of the pipeline in the Senate:

"It has been 2,323 days since the first application to build the Keystone XL Pipeline was filed with the State Department, and the Senate has finally passed legislation to move forward on construction. I commend my colleagues in the Republican led Senate for recognizing the importance of this project and the over 40,000 jobs and $2 billion in earnings it will support. While the president has already threatened to veto the pipeline in order to appease the radical environmental lobby, I expect the will of those Americans looking for good paying jobs and a growing economy to be strong as they join with both bodies of Congress in fighting together to get Keystone XL completed."
