U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today announced more than $109,000 in federal funding to support disease prevention and improve health outcomes across North Dakota.
Specifically, these funds will help the North Dakota Department of Health's Behavioral Risk Surveillance System better assess the health care needs of communities across the state so the agency can allocate the resources they need to keep their families strong and safe.
"With so many new faces and families in towns across our state, North Dakota's health needs have shifted significantly," said Heitkamp. "That's why it's so important that we make sure we have the health infrastructure in place to support our growing communities, and we can do that with the support of our federal partners who are making critical investments today in statewide health assessments. By pinpointing public health and health care needs across North Dakota, we can work together to make sure families can continue to grow in our budding neighborhoods and towns for years to come."
These funds are authorized through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
