U.S. Representative Mark Walker (NC-06) issued the following statement following House passage of FY 2016 Budget Resolution.

"I'm proud to vote today for a balanced budget that puts our country on a path to paying off the crippling debt our country faces. Additionally, it cuts trillions in projected spending, fully repeals Obamacare and its costly ramifications, contains no tax increases and makes some much needed reforms to entitlement programs. In stark contrast, the President's budget raises taxes, increases spending and never balances. I commend Chairman Price and the House Budget Committee for their leadership throughout this process and believe that this is a strong first step in restoring fiscal sanity to Washington.

Americans have been pleading for Washington to rein in its reckless spending as our debt hurtles past $18 trillion. They sent us to make tough choices, and Washington must start living within its means just as American families and businesses do every day. Continually adding to our country's debt threatens our nation's security. A balanced budget will grow our economy and help preserve the American dream for our children and grandchildren. The House budget reflects a better future and vision for empowering all Americans. "
