Murphy Statement to Mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Press Release

Date: Feb. 27, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released the following statement on this year's International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which also marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau:

Today, I join Connecticut and our friends around the world as we honor the 6 million Jews and millions of other innocent victims who were heinously murdered during the Holocaust. Their stories, and the stories of the men and women who survived such indelible atrocities, serve as an important reminder that we must resist all forms of discrimination, hatred, and violence around the globe today. As we remember those who lost their lives to the unspeakable cruelties of the Nazi regime, we must recommit ourselves to building a more peaceful world.
