Clawson" "President Stands Almost Along Against the American People on Keystone."

Statement

Date: Feb. 11, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

For the third time since taking office last June, Congressman Curt Clawson (FL-19) voted in support of approving the completion of the Keystone XL Pipeline today, following the same measure passing the U.S. Senate. The bill will now head to the President's desk.

Clawson stated:

"Should the President now veto the legislation to move ahead on the completion of the Keystone XL Pipeline, he would almost be standing alone against the will of the American people. The margins of passage of this legislation far exceed the margins that passed ObamaCare, so there should be no further delay in the approval of this measure.
"The people of Southwest Florida sent a message at the ballot box for me to advance the economic recovery of our nation. The Keystone XL Pipeline will not only support 42,000 jobs and create over 9,000 immediate jobs, but the increased access to Canadian oil will reduce pressure to drill in environmentally sensitive areas, reduce dependency on foreign oil from our adversaries, result in a reduction in fuel costs for all Americans, and make American industries more competitive.

"After over seven years of studies, it's time for the President to finally move ahead in approving this needed project to enhance our future energy needs."
