Johnson Offers Condolences, Expresses Outrage over Terrorist Attack in Paris

Statement

Date: Jan. 7, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Senator Johnson made the following statement this morning on the terror attack in Paris:

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and survivors of the terrorist attack in Paris, and with all the citizens of France. Unfortunately, the war on terror is not over, Islamic terrorists are not on the run, and the barbarism perpetrated in Paris today continues to threaten the entire civilized world -- including America. Under my new chairmanship, addressing this threat will be a top priority of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. There are no easy answers, but the first step in dealing with this evil is to acknowledge and confront its full reality. Committee hearings will be designed to do just that."
