Governor Jindal issued the following statement following news from the White House that President Obama would veto a bill that would allow for the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.
"President Obama and the Democrat Party have made a religion out of opposing sensible energy policies. The Keystone XL pipeline is the best example of this. Approving this project should be a no-brainer. It's safe and it will create thousands of jobs. Government should get out of the way of job creation.
"The opposition to Keystone is not based on science or reason and it's holding our country back. It is a shame the president is bowing to the radical left and ignoring his own administration that has said the pipeline is safe.
"It is becoming more clear every day that the Obama Administration is being held hostage by the radical left. I hope the new Republican Congress sends President Obama this bill as soon as possible and forces him to do the right thing."
